On the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, External Affairs Minister Jaishankar held a productive conversation with Finance Minister Alva Baptiste of St. Lucia.
Jaishankar also met Foreign Minister David van Weel of the Netherlands in New York. He wrote, “Appreciated the meeting with FM David van Weel of the Netherlands this evening in New York. An insightful conversation on European strategic positioning and India’s approach.”
He met Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath of Sri Lanka and wrote, “Pleasure meeting FM Vijitha Herath of Sri Lanka. Reviewed the progress of our bilateral cooperation.”
Jaishankar also met the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Somalia, Abdisalam Ali, on the sidelines of the meeting.
He met the Finance Minister of Mauritius, Dhananjay Ritish Ramful, and discussed following up on the recent successful State Visit of PM Navin Ramgoolam to India.
In a post, Jaishankar said it was a pleasure to meet Finance Minister Melvin Bouva of Suriname and appreciated his warm words for the bilateral ties. Jaishankar also met Foreign Minister Lejone Mpotjoana of Lesotho on the sidelines of the High-Level Meeting.He appreciated his conversation with the Foreign Minister of Denmark, Lars Løkke Rasmussen, valuing his insights on the latest developments in Europe and the Ukraine conflict. Both leaders also discussed bilateral ties and India-EU cooperation under the Danish Presidency.
Dr. Jaishankar also met Foreign Minister Hon. Kamina J Smith of Jamaica. He shared a post and wrote, “Always great to meet FM Hon. Kamina J Smith of Jamaica. Congratulated on her re-appointment as Foreign Minister. Look forward to strengthening our partnership.” Dr. Jaishankar met FM Melvin Bouva of Suriname. He wrote, “Pleasure to get to know FM Melvin Bouva of Suriname. Appreciate his warm words for our ties.” Dr. Jaishankar met FM Abdulla Khaleel of Maldives. He wrote, “Good to meet FM Abdulla Khaleel of Maldives. Our support to Maldives’ development remains steadfast.”
