The Election Commission today announced the biennial elections for 11 Rajya Sabha seats. This includes ten seats in Uttar Pradesh and one seat in Uttarakhand.
Union Ministers Hardeep Singh Puri, B L Verma, Samajwadi Party leader Ram Gopal Yadav, Ramji of BSP and six others are completing their terms on 25th November. Naresh Bansal from Uttarakhand is also completing his tenure on 25th November. The commission has also announced bypoll for one seat of Rajya Sabha in West Bengal. The seat was vacant due to the resignation of TMC MP Rukmini Mallik. Nomination will begin on 29th of this month and polling will be held on 16th October.
The Commission has also announced the MLC election for 11 seats in Uttar Pradesh, eight seats in Bihar, five seats in Maharashtra and four seats in Karnataka. Nomination for the polls will begin on 29th of this month and polling will be held on 23rd October.
