The Railway has decided to extend Train Nos. 19223/19224 Sabarmati BG–Jammu Tawi–Sabarmati BG Express up to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, providing greater convenience to passengers travelling to the shrine town.
As part of the extension, the train will receive additional stoppages at Samba, Bari Brahmana and Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan. The revised timetable will come into effect from October 2026.
The Railway has also announced revised timings for several trains operating to and from Jammu Tawi, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and other stations in the Jammu division.
Among the major changes, Train No. 22478 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra–New Delhi Vande Bharat Express will depart Katra at 5:40 am instead of 5:45 am from October 20. Its arrival and departure timings at Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan and Jammu Tawi will also be revised.
Train No. 14503 Kalka–Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Express will depart Jammu Tawi at 3:20 am and reach Katra at 4:47 am from October 20. Several other trains, including the Katra–Kamakhya Express, Katra–Ghazipur City Express, Sabarmati–Katra Express and various long-distance services, will also operate according to revised schedules.
The timings of several trains arriving at Jammu Tawi will also change. These include the Jammu Tawi–Sealdah Humsafar Express, Barmer–Jammu Tawi Shalimar Malani Express, Kolkata Terminal–Jammu Tawi Express, Kathgodam–Jammu Tawi Garib Rath and Pune–Jammu Tawi Jhelum Express.
The Railway has also announced the renumbering of Train Nos. 12469/12470 Kanpur Central–Jammu Tawi Express as 14669/14670 from October 2026, along with a change in category from Superfast to Express.
Passengers have been advised to check the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) or dial 139 before travelling to confirm the latest timings.
