International Atomic Energy Agency chief Rafael Grossi urged Iran to re-engage with the UN agency, as the UK, France, Germany and the US sought a resolution to refer Tehran to the UN Security Council.
Hours after Iran said it would reciprocate if the IAEA adopted a resolution against it, Grossi declined to assess what impact the move may have.
The United States, Britain, France and Germany are seeking a resolution by the UN nuclear watchdog’s board next week to report Iran to the UN Security Council for the first time in 20 years.
If passed, the resolution would follow up on one adopted on June 12 last year declaring Iran in breach of its non-proliferation obligations for not fully cooperating with an investigation into uranium traces found at undeclared sites.
