The India Meteorological Department forecasts heatwave conditions across several parts of India in the coming days.
Western Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh are likely to see heatwaves through Monday. Eastern Uttar Pradesh, eastern Rajasthan, and eastern Madhya Pradesh may experience them till the 23rd of April. Western Rajasthan faces heatwaves from Monday to the 23rd of April, while Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Odisha are expected to see them from the 21st to the 23rd of April.
Meanwhile, heavy rainfall with thunderstorms is likely in Northeast India, particularly Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh. Temperatures are set to rise by 2 to 4°C in northwest India.
Heavy rainfall with thunderstorms is likely over Northeast India. In the national capital, Delhi, temperatures are expected to be around 40 to 43°C maximum, with isolated heatwave conditions from the 22nd to the 24th of April.
