Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand is on a two-day visit to India aimed at strengthening bilateral ties.
She will meet her Indian counterpart, Dr. S. Jaishankar, today.
The discussions are expected to focus on establishing a framework for bilateral “strategic” cooperation in areas of trade, energy and security transition, and security.
On Sunday, Randhir Jaiswal, Official Spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, shared a post on
X
and wrote:
“A warm welcome to FM Anita Anand of Canada on her first official visit to New Delhi.
This visit will help build on the positive momentum in 🇮🇳-🇨🇦 relations by revitalizing our bilateral mechanisms, deepening economic cooperation, and further strengthening the enduring people-to-people ties that anchor our partnership.”
This is Anita Anand’s first visit to India since assuming charge as Foreign Minister in May.
She will also meet Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal to discuss ways to boost two-way trade ties.
The visit is expected to help build on the positive momentum in India-Canada relations by revitalizing bilateral mechanisms, deepening economic cooperation, and further strengthening the enduring people-to-people ties that anchor the partnership.
