According to the analyst, Iran rejects disarming Iraqi factions amid the regional war, while a US-Iran deal could help reduce the factions’ activities. The factions also want assurances that the U.S. won’t target them before they consider surrendering their weapons. U.S. may continue sanctions and strikes if disarmament stalls. While some groups said they would disarm, other powerful factions refuse to do so. But the government ‘does not even have a plan’ for how it is going to disarm them.
