U.S. Media reported on October 27 that defeated right-wing presidential candidate Flavio Bolsonaro left the country and is traveling to the United States.
Bolsonaro, who has yet to concede to leftist incumbent Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, left Brazil after refusing to comply with a Supreme Court order to surrender his passport.
The location of Flavio, his wife and two daughters was not immediately clear.
The U.S. State Department said on October 27 it would issue visas to Bolsonaro and his family, without confirming his travel plans.
President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, speaking in Brasilia, said he had just heard that Flavio had left the country, and called it shameful, saying he should have stayed in Brazil and proved his innocence.
