German automaker Volkswagen is recalling around 2.86 million vehicles worldwide over a possible steering failure caused by corrosion.
The recall affects several Volkswagen models built between 2013 and 2024, along with around 700,000 Audi vehicles made from 2017 to 2024.
According to Germany’s transport authority KBA, corrosion could cause a bolt to break and lead to steering failure. Volkswagen says no accidents or injuries have been reported and advises drivers they can continue using their vehicles until they receive a dealer appointment for the bolt replacement.
