Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav on Monday reviewed Delhi’s Air Pollution Mitigation Action Plan with Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and assessed the progress of measures being taken to control air pollution in the national capital. The meeting focused on preparations for the winter season and coordinated action against key sources of pollution. The minister directed that Jan Bhagidari events be organised at 37 identified pollution hotspots by October 10, involving local stakeholders and public representatives. Yadav stressed the need for area-specific action plans for each hotspot and regular monitoring of their implementation.
The meeting decided to promote EV Policy 2026, increase incentives for scrapping old vehicles, and encourage electric mobility. As part of the winter action plan, measures including staggered office timings, 50 percent work-from-home arrangements, and restrictions on entry of vehicles registered outside Delhi and below BS-VI emission standards, except CNG and EV vehicles, will be implemented from November 1.
