External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar has said that in an era where the whole world is worried about uncertainty, India and Luxembourg have a trusted relationship. Dr Jaishankar said this while meeting Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Luxembourg Xavier Bettel in New Delhi this afternoon. He said, Mr Bettel’s visit with his Minister of Economy signifies the growing and deepening partnership between India and Luxembourg.
Dr Jaishankar recalled his visit to Luxembourg in the beginning of this year. He said, in recent years leaders of both sides have interacted with each other multiple times. The External Affairs Minister said, trade, investment, financial cooperation have been the heart of the relationship. He said, beyond these both sides are looking for cooperation in space, digital and also green technologies.
Dr Jaishankar said health cooperation between India and Luxembourg has grown after the COVID pandemic. He said, in terms of supply chain resilience and diversification with Europe, now with the Free Trade Agreement and ratification in the near future, new horizons are opening up. The External Affairs Minister thanked Luxembourg for the strong support to the FTA.
In his remarks, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Luxembourg Xavier Bettel said, Luxembourg has a trusted and honest relationship with India. He said, both sides have done a lot to deepen the relationship. Mr Bettel thanked Indian leadership for their role as a peace maker and for trying to build bridges between countries which have been affected by conflicts.
Mr Bettel arrived in New Delhi in the wee hours today on a three day visit to India.
