International travellers leaving India will see a small but important change at airports starting September 1.
Kudos to the Bureau of Immigration for digitising the process by doing away with the mandatory stamping of boarding passes for international departures.
This means passengers will no longer need to get their boarding passes stamped during immigration clearance, removing an extra step from the departure process.
Now, they just need to present their e-boarding passes on their mobile phones and fly.
This will also save the paper used for more than 1.2 lakh international boarding passes every day.
