After a long meeting headed by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Siliguri with all the stakeholders of the hill areas of West Bengal today, a decision has been made to form an intermediary committee headed by former IPS officer Pankaj Singh to solve all the problems permanently in connection with the hills in North Bengal. The committee will give report to the Centre.
West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, Darjeeling MP Raju Bista, Rajya Sabha member Harsh Vardhan Shringla, Gorkha Jan Mukti Morcha chief Bimal Gurung, GNLF chief Manager Ghishing, GTA secretary Shruti Ranjan Mohanti, Sonam Lama, MLA of Kurseong, Bharat Chhetri, MLA of Kalimpong and other dignitaries were present in the meeting which took place at Sukna in Siliguri.
