The flood situation in Assam continues to remain critical. The Assam State Disaster Management Authority has said that seven districts remain affected by flooding.
The death toll has risen to 78 on Thursday and over three lakh people continue to reel under the deluge.
Various forces including National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and other forces along with local authorities continued rescue and relief operations in the affected areas.
Food, safe drinking water, medical assistance and other essential supplies are also being provided.
Amid the floods, nearly 13,000 households in flood-affected area are left without electricity.
The India Meteorological Department has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms at isolated places across the state and neighbouring Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland over the next three days.
