The 24th batch of Shri Amarnath Yatra pilgrims left the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu early Friday morning under tight security arrangements.
The convoy, comprising 1,605 pilgrims in 55 vehicles, departed for the Baltal base camp to continue the annual pilgrimage to the holy Amarnath Cave Shrine. Security personnel escorted the convoy as the Yatra continued smoothly under elaborate security and logistical arrangements.
The annual pilgrimage, which commenced on July 3, has witnessed a steady inflow of devotees despite weather-related disruptions that affected movement earlier this month.
With today’s darshan, the total number of pilgrims paying obeisance at the holy cave shrine is expected to cross the 4.5 lakh mark, a significant milestone achieved on the 29th day of the pilgrimage.
Authorities have made extensive arrangements for the safety and convenience of pilgrims, including round-the-clock security, traffic regulation, medical facilities, and essential services along both the Baltal and Pahalgam routes to ensure the smooth conduct of the Yatra.
