Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia today reviewed the progress of the Bharat 6G Alliance (B6GA) in New Delhi and reiterated the government’s commitment to making India a global leader in 6G technologies. The review focused on the progress made by the Bharat 6G Alliance towards achieving Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of making India a front-line contributor in the design, development and deployment of 6G technology by 2030. The Alliance is working through seven specialised groups covering areas such as spectrum, technology, applications, sustainability, manufacturing, outreach and 6G use cases. On the occasion, Mr Scindia stressed the need to benchmark India’s 6G progress against global developments and strengthen collaboration among the Alliance’s working groups. He emphasised that India’s 6G journey must be driven by indigenous research, global standards participation, domestic manufacturing and strong partnerships among government, industry, academia, startups and research institutions.
