The Northern Railway has announced the extension of an additional Third AC (3AC) coach in the Jammu–New Delhi Rajdhani Express to accommodate the increasing passenger rush.
According to a press release issued by the Jammu Division of Northern Railway, the extra coach was initially attached to the train on March 7 and March 14. The decision has now been extended, and the additional 3AC coach will also be attached on March 13 and March 15.
Officials said the move has been taken keeping passenger convenience in mind and to manage the surge in travel demand during the peak period. The additional coach will provide around 72 extra seats or berths per trip, enabling more passengers on the waiting list to secure confirmed reservations.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal said the railway is committed to ensuring a comfortable travel experience for passengers.
He said the addition of extra coaches to the Rajdhani Express will increase capacity and provide passengers with modern safety and amenities, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free journey even during busy travel days.
Passengers have been advised to check the latest train status and seat availability through the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation website or the railway enquiry helpline number 139.
