Bharatiya Janata Party women Members of Parliament (MPs) extended full support to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, while slamming the Opposition MPs for the alleged ‘unfortunate incident’ of throwing papers at the Chair and entering the Well of the House during the discussion on the Motion of Thanks on the President’s address.
The proceedings of both houses of Parliamnet commenced on Tuesday with the general discussion on the Union Budget 2026.
The Lower House of the Parliament was adjourned till 12 noon amid sloganeering by opposition members who sought to raise various issues. P C Mohan, who was in the Chair, adjourned the proceedings till noon.
Minutes after the Lower House of the Parliament reconvened at 12 noon, the House was again adjourned till 2 p.m., amid constant sloganeering in the House.
BJP women MPs wrote a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, urging him to take the strictest possible action under the rules against those opposition MPs.
