Prime Minister Narendra Modi today issued a departure statement ahead of his official visit to Malaysia, undertaken at the invitation of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.In his statement, the Prime Minister highlighted the historic ties between India and Malaysia, noting that bilateral relations have witnessed steadfast progress in recent years. He said he looks forward to holding discussions with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to further enhance the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries.
Prime Minister Modi stated that the visit will focus on deepening defence and security cooperation, strengthening economic and innovation partnerships, and expanding collaboration into new domains.The Prime Minister also expressed eagerness to interact with the Indian community in Malaysia. He noted that the Indian diaspora in Malaysia, numbering nearly three million, is among the largest in the world and has made immense contributions to Malaysia’s progress. He added that the community serves as a living bridge between the two nations and provides a strong foundation for their historic friendship.
