The India Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate rainfall or snowfall across several northern regions over the next few days.
Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Muzaffarabad, along with Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, are very likely to experience rain or snowfall on January 5 and 6.
Cold wave conditions are likely to lash isolated pockets of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh from January 5 to 8, as well as parts of West Rajasthan during the same period.
In addition, dense fog is expected at isolated locations over Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh, which could affect visibility and disrupt transport.
