Internet Services Restored in Karbi Anglong Districts
The Assam Government has revoked its earlier order suspending internet and mobile data services in Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong districts.
Internet services were suspended on December 23, 2025, following a serious law and order situation. However, the government stated that the situation has now improved and normalcy has been restored, with no immediate threat to public peace.
In an order issued by Additional Chief Secretary Ajay Tewari, the ban on internet and mobile data services has been lifted with effect from 8:00 AM on December 28, 2025. All mobile service providers have been directed to restore services in both districts.
