– Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair the Fifth National Conference of Chief Secretaries in New Delhi on Saturday and Sunday.
The conference aims to improve cooperation between the Centre and the States through regular discussions on national development. It will work towards a common development plan.
The main theme of the conference is
‘Human Capital for Viksit Bharat’.
The focus will be on developing people’s skills and abilities, rather than only looking at population numbers.
Discussions will centre on skill development, productivity, innovation and jobs to help India move towards becoming a developed country.
The conference is based on detailed discussions involving central ministries, NITI Aayog, States, Union Territories and experts. It will also include six special sessions on key governance and policy issues.
Chief Secretaries, senior officials from all States and Union Territories, and experts will take part in the conference.
