Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 5th edition of SEMICON India 2026 at Yashobhoomi Convention Centre in New Delhi, on September 17.
This marked the start of a 3-day national convention on the country’s semiconductor and electronics ecosystem. The event, being held from September 17 to 19, will focus on industry engagement, policy direction and international partnerships.The exhibition will feature 6 country pavilions representing Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Netherlands, Singapore and Sweden, 12 State Government pavilions, and a dedicated Startup Pavilion.
Speaking on the event Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, India has worked simultaneously on chip design, manufacturing, equipment manufacturing, the materials ecosystem, and testing capabilities and has demonstrated success across all these areas.
