During an inter-ministerial briefing on Friday, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas said the country’s domestic fuel supply chain and energy security remains stable and urged the public not to panic or engage in unnecessary stockpiling of petroleum products.
Sujata sharma, joint secretary at the ministry of petroleum and natural gas, said through industry associations, consumers are being appealed not to indulge in panic buying or unnecessary stocking and to procure fuel only through authorised procurement channels.
She added that sufficient stocks of petrol, diesel and LPG are available across the country, with LPG production at an all-time high of approximately 92 TMT per day.
She further noted that around 150 districts are witnessing more than 30 per cent growth in petrol demand, while about 14 districts have recorded over 100 per cent growth in petrol consumption.
