Amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, a drone struck a residential building in the Romanian city of Galati near the Ukraine border, injuring two people and triggering a fire.
Authorities said around 70 residents were evacuated following the incident. Another drone was later found in northwestern Romania, raising fresh security concerns in the NATO member state.
Meanwhile, at the United Nations Security Council, U.S. envoy Tammy Bruce criticised the attacks and warned against further strikes. Russian envoy Vassily Nebenzia defended the operations, saying Moscow would continue attacks on targets linked to Ukraine’s military infrastructure.
Russia also reiterated its warning to foreign diplomats to leave the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, amid escalating hostilities.
