President Droupadi Murmu conferred the prestigious Padma Awards at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Monday.
This year, the President approved the conferment of 131 Padma Awards, including two duo cases. The 2026 Padma Awards list comprises five Padma Vibhushan, 13 Padma Bhushan and 113 Padma Shri Awards. The list includes 19 women awardees, six persons from the category of Foreigners, NRI, PIO and OCI, and 16 posthumous awardees.
President Murmu posthumously conferred the Padma Vibhushan on legendary veteran actor Dharmendra for his outstanding contribution to the field of Arts. The honour was received by BJP MP Hema Malini, acknowledging the legacy of her late husband.
President Murmu also conferred the Padma Bhushan posthumously on advertising legend Piyush Pandey for his remarkable contribution to the field of advertising. His wife Neeta Joshi received the award on his behalf.
India’s women’s cricket captain Harmanpreet Kaur was conferred the Padma Shri for her exceptional contribution to Sports (Cricket), recognising her leadership and achievements on the international stage.
