External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar has said that India and the United States have a strong interest in combating terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
Addressing the gathering at 250th Independence Day celebration of the United States in New Delhi yesterday, Dr Jaishankar said that India and US must always be clear about zero tolerance for terrorism, and that is why their counter terrorism cooperation is so important. He said that both nations have a common interest in de-risking the global economy and providing the world with more choices. The External Affairs Minister said that many convergences make both nations effective strategic partners in multiple domains.
Mentioning the visit of US Secretary of State and NSA Marco Rubio, Dr Jaishankar said this visit highlights the significance of India-US ties in contemporary times. He added that a year ago, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump set out a pathway for the further development of both nation’s enduring partnership.
