Jag Vikram, an Indian-flagged LPG vessel, has successfully reached Kandla Port after crossing the Strait of Hormuz, marking a significant development for India’s energy supply amid regional tensions.
The vessel carried 20,400 metric tonnes of LPG and docked at Oil Jetty No. 1, with unloading expected to begin soon to strengthen the domestic supply. Its transit is notable as it is the first Indian ship to pass through the strategic route following the recent US-Iran ceasefire.
Officials said around 15 Indian vessels are still present in the Strait of Hormuz, with efforts underway to bring them back safely.
Authorities confirmed that operations at Indian ports remain normal, with no recent incidents reported involving Indian ships. Over 2,100 seafarers have also been safely repatriated so far.
