Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed the Rajya Sabha on the situation in West Asia, stating that the government is acting with the utmost sensitivity in this hour of crisis. He urged citizens to remain prepared to face all challenges amid the rapidly evolving conflict and assured that prompt action is being taken, with public interest as the top priority.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in resolving the crisis, noting that India remains in constant contact with nations including Iran, Israel, and the United States.
Highlighting India’s preparedness, he said that measures taken over the past 11 years are proving beneficial during this period. Steps have been consistently implemented across sectors to reduce dependence on other nations.
Prime Minister Modi observed that the West Asia situation could have a prolonged impact on the global economy but affirmed that the government is taking measures to safeguard the Indian economy.
He also stressed the safety and security of Indians residing in conflict-affected regions as a top priority and called on state governments to act in the spirit of “Team India” in response to the unfolding crisis.
