The first batch of Amarnath pilgrims was flagged off from the Nunwan Base Camp in Pahalgam by Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat, marking the beginning of the annual pilgrimage amid tight security and comprehensive administrative preparations.
Officials said all essential facilities, including accommodation, medical services, sanitation and security, have been put in place to ensure a smooth and comfortable Yatra for devotees.
Pilgrims expressed happiness as they began the journey to the holy Amarnath Cave Shrine. Chanting devotional slogans and wearing smiles, the yatris praised the arrangements made by the administration and expressed hope for a safe and peaceful pilgrimage.
The Amarnath Yatra is one of the country’s most revered pilgrimages, attracting thousands of devotees from across India every year.
