Indian cuisine is gaining increasing popularity across France and Europe, creating new opportunities for Indian businesses and food exporters. From basmati rice and lentils to ready-to-eat meals and spice blends, Indian products are finding their way into more European households.
Indian food companies are expanding their presence in Europe as demand for authentic Indian cuisine continues to grow. Speaking in Paris, Anjila Malhotra Monje, President of Anju Enterprises, said the market for Indian food products has been growing steadily by five to seven per cent annually. She noted that while demand was initially driven by the Indian diaspora, local French and European consumers are now increasingly exploring Indian flavours, vegetarian diets and Ayurvedic food traditions.
According to Anju Enterprises, staples such as basmati rice and lentils remain highly popular, while spice blends and ready-to-eat products are being adapted to suit local tastes. The growing use of Indian spices in fusion cuisine is also helping Indian brands reach new consumers across Europe. The rising popularity of Indian cuisine highlights the growing cultural and economic ties between India and Europe.
