As India and France work to strengthen cooperation in education, both countries aim to increase the number of Indian students in France from around 10,000 today to 30,000 by 2030. Indian students in Paris say France is emerging as an attractive destination for higher studies and career growth.
Indian students studying in Paris say France offers a unique combination of quality education, research opportunities and career prospects. Abhinav, a master’s student in Life Sciences and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Paris-Cité, says the academic environment has helped him develop new skills while benefiting from strong institutional support for international students. Pranjali points out that France is often more affordable than many other popular study destinations. She says scholarships, public universities and student welfare benefits make higher education accessible for Indian students.
Edwin, an astrophysics student, says the growing number of English-taught programmes is making France more welcoming for international students, despite initial language challenges. He notes that more Indian students are now choosing French universities. Students also highlighted opportunities such as internships, apprenticeships and post-study work options, which help build professional experience. They believe expanding educational exchanges will further strengthen the India-France partnership.
