Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju today accused Congress of trying to pressurise the judiciary in party leader Rahul Gandhi’s defamation case. In a tweet, he said, it is not required of a convict to go personally to file an appeal but he is going to Surat personally with a group of leaders and aides which is only a drama to pressurise the judiciary.
Later, talking to media outside Parliament, Mr. Rijiju alleged that the Congress party considers a family above the country. Mr. Gandhi will visit Surat today to appeal against a lower court’s order convicting him in a defamation case.
