Union Minister for Culture, Tourism & DoNER, G. Kishan Reddy, said that a coordinated effort is need of the hour with full determination and commitment to keep Ganga clean. Inaugurating the sixth edition of Ganga Utsav 2022 in New Delhi in the presence of MoS Jal Shakti and Tribal Affairs Bishweswar Tudu and other officials, the Minister said, Ganga is a mother to all of us so it’s our collective responsibility to clean it.
Talking about the conservation of rivers, he said rivers are absolutely necessary to human existence, they must be preserved. He added that river Ganga provides lots of employment opportunities especially to those 40 percent of Indian population who are living beside the Ganga. He urged the people to create awareness about the river conservation including Ganga. Speaking about Ganga Utsav 2022, Mr Reddy said it’s a good initiative by the Jal Ministry but at the same time these awareness programmes must reach to every nook and corner of the country.
