Union Home Minister Amit Shah today, February 11, laid emphasis on the Police Technology Mission which is aimed at making Internal Security strong. He said, through its three Mantras, awareness and preparedness and enforcement the Mission will make police from Head Constable to DGP tech-savvy and make the security forces strong to enable them to face any challenge in the days to come.
Addressing the 74th RR batch of IPS probationers at the passing out parade at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVP NPA) in Hyderabad this morning, Mr. Shah called the IPS probationers as Amritkal Batch.
The Minister said the impact of three internal security hotspots has come down during the past eight years due to the proactive measures taken by the Government. He said, the terrorism in Jammu Kashmir, insurgency in the northeast and left-wing extremism in some parts of the country has come down due to strong political will and the strength of security agencies.
