Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Lok Sabha membership has been restored today. His membership was terminated under the Representation of the People Act after he was sentenced to 2 years in the lower court’s Modi surname defamation case. After this, he had to vacate the government bungalow as well. Rahul Gandhi’s two-year sentence was suspended by the Supreme Court on August 4. The Lok Sabha Secretariat today announced the reinstatement of his membership in connection with the Supreme Court’s decision. Rahul Gandhi had to lose his membership in March.
