Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on Tuesday asked BJP MP Varun Gandhi to join Congress after he did not get a Lok Sabha ticket from the saffron party. Alleging that it could be due to his “connection with the Gandhi family,” Chowdhary stated: “He should come here. We would be happy. He is an educated man. He has a clean image. BJP denied him a ticket because he is related to the Gandhi family. I think he should come (to Congress),” he stated.
