Lok Sabha Election 2024 Phase: In the first hours of polling during the third phase of Lok Sabha elections across 93 constituencies in 11 States and Union Territory on May 7, a voter turnout touching 49.27%. However, sporadic incidents of violence were reported in West Bengal, and some villages in Uttar Pradesh witnessed poll boycotts.
Maharashtra had the lowest voting percentage at 31.55%, while West Bengal recorded the highest with almost 50% turnout. Notably, the BJP secured victory in the Surat constituency in Gujarat unopposed.
