The Supreme Court on Monday directed the protesting doctors in West Bengal, who are abstaining from work as part of protests over the rape and murder of an on duty trainee doctor at the RG Kar Medical College Hospital, to immediately resume work. The top court said that if the doctors return to work by 5 PM tomorrow, no adverse action shall be taken against them by the state government.
CJI DY Chandrachud while hearing the case said that the protest can’t be at cost of duty.
