ISRO’s GSLV f 12 rocket with NVS – 01 satellite was successfully launched at 10.42 from Sriharikota today. The rocket lifted off from the second launch pad at Satish Dhawan Space Centre and injected NVS -01 satellite in its geosynchronous orbit. The satellite weighing 2232 kilograms is the first of the second-generation satellites envisaged for the Navigation with Indian Constellation series.
Akashvani correspondent reports, India will join three other nations in setting up not only a constellation series but also on the operationalisation of the rubidium clock made indigenously.
ISRO scientists have proved yet another difficult experiment by today’s successful mission. Scientists gathered at the Centre expressed happiness and satisfaction at the functioning of the satellite so far. The orbit-raising manoeuvres will be used for taking the satellite to the destined level in two days.
