India and Italy have decided to turn their relationship into a strategic partnership. The decision was taken during the delegation-level talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Italian counterpart Giorgia Meloni in New Delhi today.
Addressing the joint press meeting, Mr. Modi said, this year India and Italy are celebrating the 75th anniversary of their bilateral relations and both nations have emphasized further strengthening their economic ties during the talks. He said, Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan are opening up immense investment opportunities in the country. He said both countries have laid emphasis on increasing cooperation in areas like Renewable Energy, Green Hydrogen, IT, semiconductors, telecom and space. He said the Startup Bridge will be established between India and Italy.
The Prime Minister said India and Italy are working closely in the direction of the fight against terrorism and separatism. On the Ukraine conflict, the Prime Minister said, India has made it clear that this dispute can only be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy. He said India is fully prepared to contribute to any peace process.
