The Indian Air Force (IAF) conducted a full dress rehearsal in Prayagraj ahead of its 91st anniversary celebration on October 8. A ceremonial parade will be held on Air Force Day followed by an aerial display over the Sangam in the afternoon.
During the rehearsal, ten sky parajumpers descended from an A-32 aircraft from a height of 8000 feet and filled the people with thrill and enthusiasm. After this spectacular performance, 6 battalions took part in the parade of Bisonko. For the first time, a battalion of women agniveers participated in the parade.
In another air show this afternoon, Indian Air Force’s vintage aircraft Tiger Moth, Harbut Trainer, transport aircraft C 130, IL 78, Chetak helicopter and Rudra helicopter will be seen. The air show will also display indigeneously built fighter aircraft Tejas along with Rafale planes , Mirage 2000, Cobra , Su 30 while it will also be the last show for MiG-21, which has completed its life in the Indian Air Force. During the show Sky divers of the Akashganga team will land on the Sangam coast from the Air Force planes, an apt show of military strength of the Indian airforce.
