The BJP claimed that the Congress government led by Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu lost its majority and is mulling a floor test in the state assembly. The Congress has now got a respite for three months after the budget was passed in the assembly with no BJP MLAs present. Earlier, 15 BJP MLAs, including LoP Jairam Thakur, were expelled by the Speaker and the remaining 10 legislators walked out of the House.
Meanwhile, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Wednesday rejected speculation that he would step down as Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister as disgruntled Congress legislators threatened a rebellion and the BJP called for a floor test.
