Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren won the trust vote on Monday in the state Assembly after he secured the support of 45 legislators. Soren moved a confidence motion after he took office earlier this week when he got bail from the Jharkhand High Court in an alleged land scam.
The ruling alliance, led by Hemant Soren’s Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), has 45 MLAs — JMM-27, Congress-17, and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) 1 in the 81-member Assembly.
