Minister of State for Electronics and IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar today said that the G20 Digital Economy Ministers meeting has reached on a global consensus on Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI). The G20 Digital Economy Ministers meeting was held last month in Bengaluru. Addressing media in New Delhi on the outcomes of the meeting, Mr Chandrasekhar said, DPI is a powerful mechanism for every country especially for the countries from the global South.
The Minister said, during the G20 Digital Economy Minister’s meeting, the wide-ranging discussion was held on cyber security to protect businesses. He said the digital economy is increasing in a larger component for the economic progress. Mr Chandrasekhar said, India’s digital economy has grown from 4.5 percent in 2014 to eleven percent this year.
