The Delhi State Election Commissioner on Friday announced the schedule for the Delhi civic polls or the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) election 2022. In the MCD Election 2022, the voting has been scheduled for 4 December and counting of votes (results) will be done on December 7, State Election Commissioner Vijay Dev announced on Friday.
The state election commissioner added that 50 per cent of seats have been reserved for women candidates. Following a Home Ministry notification, the total number of MCD wards in Delhi has been reduced to 250 from earlier 272. As many as 42 wards are in reserved category. The Bharatiya Janata Party, Aam Aadmi Party and the Congress are the three major parties in the fight for Delhi local body poll.
