Actor Randeep Hooda has been bestowed with Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award in recognition of his contributions to Indian cinema and his recent film Swatantrya Veer Savarkar.
During a ceremony held at Mumbai’s Dinanath Mangeshkar Natyagrih on Wednesday, Hooda expressed his gratitude, saying that he felt honoured to receive the award from a family closely associated with Savarkar.
“Swatantrya Veer Savarkar” presents a cinematic portrayal of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, one of India’s most influential and controversial figures during the struggle for Indian Independence.
