PM Modi launches world`s largest health care programme `Ayushman Bharat`
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday launched the world`s largest government-funded healthcare programme - the Ayushman Bharat, which would benefit 50 crore Indians PM Modi had announced the launch of the scheme from the ramparts of the Red Fort during his Independence day speech. PM Modi rolled out the scheme from Jharkhand capital Ranchi.The programme aims to make healthcare accessible and affordable, by providing a coverage of Rs. 5 lakh to 10 crore economically backward families. Nearly 31 states and Union Territories will implement the programme after Sunday`s launch.Under the Prime Minister Jan Arogya Yojana, more than 10 crore families of the country will be provided a coverage of Rs 5 lakh per family annually.The scheme will cover around 40% of the country`s population, benefiting approximately 50 crore people. And what makes the 23rd of September even more memorable for beneficiaries is this letter personalized letter from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.It names all the family member who will be covered under the Ayushman Bharat yojana.The next step is to convert this letter into a gold card which will enable the beneficiaries to avail fully paperless and cashless treatment at government and registered private hospitals.This health assurance scheme will take care of secondary and tertiary treatment, including treatment for serious diseases like cancer, cardiac and neuro surgeries, ortho, dental and leprosy.The patient will be given free medication three days before and fifteen days after getting admitted in a hospital.The scheme has been designed to ensure complete transparency and reduce the chances of any corruption or leakages.
