Govt`s major initiative for peace in Jammu & Kashmir during Ramzan
Home Ministry says No anti terror operations in J&K to ensure peaceful Ramzan; Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti welcomes decision. Centre has taken a huge initiative to make the month of Ramadaan peaceful in the state of Jammu and kashmir.

In a major decision, the Centre has directed the security forces not to launch operations in Jammu and Kashmir during the holy month of Ramzan. According to home ministry, the decision has been taken to help the peace loving Muslims observe Ramzan in a peaceful environment. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has informed Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti of the central government`s decision.

Earlier this month, after an all-party meeting, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti had appealed the central government to consider a unilateral ceasefire in the state starting from Ramzan in mid-May till the completion of the Amarnath yatra in August. She had said that a ceasefire would provide relief to the people and help create a better atmosphere in the state.

Reacting to the development Mehbooba Mufit tweeted to appreciate the step taken by the centre. She welcomed the step and thanked the PM and HM for the same. CM also extended a word for all the leaders and parties who attended the all party meeting and helped buid consensus for it. She said that such a decision will go a long way in creating a peaceful and amicable environment for a sustained dialogue.
