K. Sivan to take over as new ISRO chief

K. Sivan to take over as new ISRO chief

The Appointments Committee of the Union Cabinet on Tuesday gave the approval for his elevation. Dr Sivan is currently the Director of the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, Thiruvananthapuram, an arm of the national space agency ISRO.


Known as the Rocket Man, Dr. Sivan will be at the helm of affairs of the ISRO, one of the world`s most renowned space agencies, for three years since assuming his charge. He will take over from Dr AS Kiran Kumar, the present chairman, after the PSLV Launch on Friday. He will take charge on Friday.
